What Did I Do
What Did I Do
Any hints or suggestions. I was trying to intall ms net 3 and it got hung up. I keep trying to restart my lappie. It wouldn't so I hit and held the power button down.
Re-fired it up and now all my icons on my desktop and browser are super sized....Very large fonts.
Not sure what I did, but would sure love to get back to my previous setup.

No - there is nothing beyond .Net 1.1 on my Vista 64-bit box. I did a factory install and did not uninstall or use any option not to install.qviri wrote:<snip>

I have a client that uses a specific application requiring at least .Net V2 and it won't run on this box. I did try to get to V3 but could not. In the course of learning Vista, I did two factory installs beyond the one that came, so I am very sure it is not the install process. Add/Remove Programs (Programs and Features) only shows .Net 1.1 as well.

In 32-bit Vista Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 can't be found in the regular list of installed programs. It can be turned on or off in "Turn Windows Features on or off", which is accessible in the Programs and Features control panel applet. It might be that it's the same in 64-bit Vista. There are three subcategories for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 in 32-bit Vista. The factory preinstalled 32-bit Vista on a T61 only has the XPS viewer active.jdhurst wrote:No - there is nothing beyond .Net 1.1 on my Vista 64-bit box.
So it is! And I have .NET Framework 3 enabled and did not know it. Of course, this is one beef I have always had with Vista - it splits up one thing or one concept into two or three pieces and sticks the pieces in mutually distinct and confusing areas to be certain the OS is as difficult as it can possibly be to use. Thank you for clearing that up.TTY wrote:In 32-bit Vista Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 can't be found in the regular list of installed programs.
