Success: Installed a key on TP42 keyboard (Blue Cup Version)

#1 Post by bmn » Sun Oct 12, 2008 8:21 am

hi,

yesterday a key jumped out (after a heavy thing was fallen on the keyboard). the key wasn't damaged. I tied to just press the key to the place it was but I couldn't succeed (I've got the Blue Cup Version keyboard version).
after browsing I've found:
Installation Instructions

These are not exactly easy to attach and it will probably try your patience. So please take your time so you don't break a hinge. The only real advice we have is to remove the hinge from the key. The hinge itself is multiple pieces so try to keep that together and/or pay close attention to the way the hinge pieces work together. Then attach the hinge pieces to the board where the key is missing (if you were also missing the rubber cup, you should adhear that to the board with an appropriate adhesive prior to placement of the hinge). Finally, snap the key down in place over the hinge. This is the easiest way we've found to attempt this task.
jep, that was helpful, you have to disassemble all (4 of them) the part from the key and to put it together from bottom to the top.
that took some time

hope this it helpful to anyone
