Would like to customise LED's on my T41 (use different colors for different functions). Have not taken the LCD bezel apart to look and see what type LED's are there. Does anyone have a picture of them or spec.'s, or ANY information which would be helpful so I can order them? Are they listed (with spec's) anywhere?
Thanks
Thanks

richk, would you happen to have an inverter to look at? Was wondering if they are SMC or a typical two lead. Was also wondering their size ... anything?richk wrote:They are part of the inverter. You are unlikely to find specs.

google images has countless photos: http://images.google.com/images?&q=thinkpad+invertersojourner wrote:would you happen to have an inverter to look at?
just don't mis-solder something since you could put +3.3V to ground and fry your planar.
instead, you might consider using a small piece of cinema lighting gel to change the color. either this or this would fit the bill.

erik, thanks for the link! Started going through some images this morning and got an idea now of what the LEDs might be. Have an order going into Mouser Electronics (great electronics parts store) and will have to see if I can find something for replacement LEDs quick.
Here's what was in mind for the new color scheme:
moon/sleep = white (like the real moon)
HDD = red or amber (really undecided)
BT = blue
I like the multi-color battery, and green for power, caps and num not sure about but green is probably ok, wireless ... unsure, green probably OK. But ought to be an interesting project if the right replacement LEDs can be found! Thanks again.
