Keyboard and mouse on T40 with OS-X 10-5-4

#1 Post by nava » Fri Oct 17, 2008 9:45 am

Hi

I Installed Fas 10.5.4 in a IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad T40, while on the install I could use the Mouse and Keyboard integrated without any problems, after it reboots I get that could not recognize the keyboard, mouse doesn't work neither, So I plug in a USB keyboard and Mouse and manage to get it to work.

I was reading on another forumthat installing ApplePS2Controller.kext, (hope was done correctly) should work, downloaded the file ApplePS2Controller.kext.zip deleted the .zip, move that to the laptop as per instructions on the other forum but still nothing.

Any other ideas?

Did anyone manage to get 10.5.2, or 10.5.4 working on a T40? I did manage to get 10.4.8 but could not use latest version of Itunes because it requires a higher version.

Thanks in advance.

My Lenovo 3000 V200 is also using PS2 connector for both mouse and keyboard so I had to use the PS2 fix too.

There's a lot of different ApplePS2Controllers and AppleACPIPS2Nub files out there, but I finally managed to find those that worked for me in 10.5.5.

They can be downloaded here, including Kext Helper.

Unzip the kext files and drag them onto Kext Helper, input your password and install them.

When that is done you press the "Set Permissions" button and reboot, and hopefully it is working.

Hi Amplificator

Thanks for your help, I reinstalled and manage to get the Keyboard and mouse to work, touchpad doesn't work (not a problem as I never use it.

Also manage to get Wifi and Network card (have to configure every time I reboot), HP Wireless printer, burning cd (have to try USB DVD burner) also an old Webcam I have.

I installed all the Apple updates except OSx 10.5.5.

So far so good, just had to get familiar with Apple as it's the 1st time I use it.

Any good apps to install?
