When I turn the LCD off, it won't stay off

#1 Post by K. Eng » Fri Jan 07, 2005 7:04 pm

I noticed this happening in the past week. When I turn my LCD off using Fn+F3 the LCD will turn off, but when I come back a few minutes later, its back on again.

Has anyone else noticed this? I am fairly sure that this is not caused by someone using the machine or the trackpoint recalibrating itself. I am running the Radeon driver package 8.051 from IBM.

Edit: The LCD will stay off for exactly 10 minutes. I sat at my desktop computer doing other stuff and waited for the T40's LCD to come back on.

Edit again: This only happens when I'm in a non-administrator account. Probably a Windows problem and not a ThinkPad one.
Homebuilt PC: AMD Athlon XP (Barton) @ 1.47 GHz; nForce2 Ultra; 1GB RAM; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM; ATI Radeon 9600; Integrated everything else!

Brian,

sorry for the tardy reply, I really thought one of our other NET+ gurus would have answered this by now.

Check that your ethernet connection is not set to "Wake on LAN" in properties. Also make sure the box for "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby" is not checked under the Power Management tab for the card.

Regards,
