R61: Max resolution limit for notebook-display and projector

#1 Post by ungethym » Sun Oct 19, 2008 2:45 am

Hi,

I probably want to buy a R61 (NF0G7GE, 8932G7G) the only remaining question is the following:

I want to use it to do presentations with projector and want to use OpenOffice 3.0 with presenter screen (notes on laptop display, charts on projector). The laptop display has a resolution of 1280x800 and the beamer 1024x768.On the internetsite of lenovo [1] there is a limit of the graphiccard (X3100): Max resolution (with max video RAM):2048 x 1536

If I add the two screenresolutions I have 1280x1568 (and that's bigger than 1536). But I read in some forums that it should work with other laptops with the X3100 chips. (Even the T61 with nVIDIA Quadro NVS seems to have this limitation.) Can this be true?

Now my qustion: Does anybody have some expetience with his R61 or even T61. Does it work?

An answer would be really great. I've search the internet but didn't find a solution to my question. So if I've overseen the right page I would be very happy if you could post the link.

Thanks in advance.

Thomas

It works fine under Windows XP. I had no time to test it under Linux.

My A31 can drive two 1600x1200 screens at 32 bits color separately. It has only 32MB of VRAM.
