I have a T43p with a N92P6753 IDTech N150U3 IPS LCD. I've been using the TP full time for about three years now. Over the last 6 months the screen has become unbearable - very yellowish / very dim.
Reading through the posts here I figured it was the CCFL. I purchased one from lcdparts.net, installed it, but the screen looked *exactly* the same. At this point I should have looked to the inverter as the culprit, but in my experience LCD inverter failures don't usually manifest as dimness.
But so much for experience; I just installed a brand new 13N7076 BOE-Hydis HV150UX1 and the screen is STILL dim. I can see some improvement- but nowhere near what I'd expect a new screen to look like.
Anyway- now I need an inverter. I know I can use a UXGA meant for a T43p (27K9976 / 39T0361), but can I use a UXGA meant for a t60p (42T0079) as well? Any reason to choose one over the other?
Thanks all....
T43p UXGA screen replacement issues - Inverter question
The T60 UXGA uses a different cable. Thats not the only problem though. The T60 LCD itself has a EEPROM built in to tell the laptop what it is. There has been some discussion of reprogramming the EEPROM to be able to use the T60 screen in the T4x series. I didn't hear of any success stories.
Was the new screen yellow too or only dim?
Let us know how the inverter replacement goes. Hopefully this will fix your trouble.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
The Hydis was a simple drop in replacement & works fine. On T4x models, i don't believe the LCD EDID is an issue- that's a T6x and up problem. The UXGA cable on a T43p and the cable on a T60 are the same.
No, the new screen is just dim- not as yellow as my old IDtech. The IDtech UXGA screens are known for being somewhat yellowish, whereas the Hydis skews blue.
Anyway, my question is what to replace the inverter with. A stock t43p (which I know will work), or a t60 inverter that was originally designed to drive the Hydis (might work better?).

Great to hear that the cable is the same and the LCD works. I haven't heard that before. One thing that is different on the T60 inverter is that there is a LED for A/C power.
I would definitely try a new T43 inverter.
