R500 Centrino2 and Excel = crash all the time

#1 Post by sokos » Mon Oct 20, 2008 1:36 pm

Hi guys,

Just got a R500 for a friend and we try installing Excel over 10 times.
Installs fine and then crashes.

We did factory recovery of XP Pro, installed it again, works, once i do a windows update, then Excel crashes again.

Any ideas what it may be?

I tried Excel 2003 and 2007, same problem..

It will either load, you can work and once you exit Excel then crashes.
Sometimes it just behaves strangely.

All the rest works fine, just [censored] Excel..

Any ideas out there?!

Thanks

That's very odd, even from a fresh install??!?!?

Do you get the same issues with other spreadsheet programs? (OpenOffice etc).

What has Microsoft support said about this? That's incredibly... odd...

Dammit, problem still exists.
After searching a bit i found the problem to be caused by the SEND TO menu that was looking for bluetooth devices.

I did the Bluetooth wizard, problem looked liked solved but now I get same problems again ! After running excel, when you try save it crashes!

All other software runs fine (Word, Ppoint, etc)

Any ideas?
