Battery drops from 70% to 4%

#1 Post by dwilsonfl » Thu Oct 23, 2008 10:33 pm

After running on the 9 cell battery for a couple of hours with a steady decline as expected, all of a sudden the battery went from 70% to 4%.

What's up with that?

i'm stymied. i've never seen a battery that has a full charge capacity 2x its design capacity. a little more, but never 2x.

if you're running the thinkvantage power manager applet, you could try to do a battery gauge reset.

Is 273 cycles good? I've been wondering. This is the battery it came with in 2005. Do you think I have much time left?
