First snow in N.E. PA, over 8" already
Earlier than usual, the first snow is hitting the East Coast.
We are about 2 hours west of New York, and have already about 8" of fresh snow.
We had just raked all the leaves out and we got our chimneys swept only yesterday afternoon!
(Un)timely coincidence!

oh no, please keep it all over there, we here in Pittsburgh still have not seen the first flake; although they are calling for snow showers today and tomorrow with no accumulation. Welcome to Pennsylvania RBS, hope you are a skier!

Ah... Snow... What's that?
Here, where i am right now, there's no real snow (that lasted more than 12h) for like ~20 years... Earth latitude is almost the same as in NY... There are really strong winds though, that can last for weeks (mesured record wind speed around 300kph/180mph)
... But there's lot of sun 'cause wind blows clouds away... I like the sun, the more the better, and the other hand, don't like clouds, whatever falls from them...

@Ray
Neat-looking plane, that SR-71!
Me being an "earthling" I was more thinking of road distance...
@Purcy
I used to be a ski-fanatic for all the 'black' slopes.
Skied Grouse Mtn. in Vancouver and Mt. Whistler [BC] in the late '60s
I've since skied most of Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and France.
Years ago I also was in the ski-patrol for two years and 'toboganned' over 30 people with broken legs.
Haven't been on skis now for nearly 8 years, but might try it again this winter.

Winter is icumen in,
Lhude sing Goddamm,
Raineth drop and staineth slop,
And how the wind doth ramm!
Sing: Goddamm.
Skiddeth bus and sloppeth us,
An ague hath my ham.
Freezeth river, turneth liver,
Damm you; Sing: Goddamm.
Goddamm, Goddamm, 'tis why I am, Goddamm,
So 'gainst the winter's balm.
Sing goddamm, damm, sing goddamm,
Sing goddamm, sing goddamm, DAMM.

I couldn't believe the snow on Tuesday. It only created a light dusting, but it was coming down so hard, and the flakes were huge.
Snow in October is rare around here...heck, snow in the middle of January is rare.

You get snow, Cincinnati just gets temperature fluctuation. It was barely in the 40's now it's the 60/70's.
We won't get snow till mid-November
