Dead pixel

#1 Post by ThinkPad » Sat Jan 08, 2005 11:06 pm

I just notice a dead pixel on my T-30 thinkpad. Is that a sign for more dead pixels down the road, if so, is there a remedy for this?

I don't believe it's a sign of more. I think it's just an unlucky, possibly one time thing. There isn't much of a remedy, besides a replacement.

Make sure it's an actual dead pixel. If you have the ultra nav thingie, click the middle button with the blue line on it a few times. See if it goes away.

Also, you can try rubbing on the dead pixel with a cloth. Apparently that can sometimes fix it if it's "stuck" but not dead. I've never seen it work though.

Good luck.

If it was bright white, and it happens again. Click the middle trackpoint button. It will probably make it go away.

How can I get rid of them? I tryed the navkey but I wont work, or try to describe hov to do it. Thx

Yeah really.. I just had the same thing happen to me. I followed that advice and the pixel is now gone.

Hurray! What did it do?
