Advanced Mini Dock- 2x external monitors?

I love having two 19" monitors at my desk, and traditionally I plugged them into a desktop. I'm considering getting a T400 with a dock and using this as a sole machine. If I plug in one as vga and another as dvi, can I get both monitors to run at once? Can I add the laptop screen for three? Will docking and undocking while awake cause problems?
