i can't wait any longer as my 4K40 Hitachi Travelstar is almost full.

at CES in Las Vegas in these past days, Hitachi did not say anything about Notebook hard drives--almost all marketing efforts were in:

a) SATA2 hard drives for desktop (maybe these will migrate to notebook hard drives in half year to 1 year).
b) micro-drives with about 1" form factor.

absolutely nothing about 7K80 or 7K100 ;(
