Taskbar Help *PIC*

#1 Post by flipteo » Tue Nov 04, 2008 5:52 pm

Hi,

I recently accidentally altered my taskbar (I think it's called taskbar - the blue bar at the bottom of xp).

Here's what it looks like now:

What I want to get rid of, is the little "ridge" above the main bar; and the two little things that look like pinholes. And I also want to get the "quick launch" items back on the left side, next to the start button. Though I think once I can get rid of the "pinhole things" that will be easy.

Any suggestions?

Quick Launch: right-click in any blank area of the taskbar, choose, Toolbars, then Quick Launch.

"Ridge": you should be able to hover over the top edge (look for the cursor to change to a double-headed arrow) click and drag the "height" of the taskbar. Adjust as needed, then...

"Pinholes" (I think these are adjustment sliders): again, right-click and select (enable) "Lock the Taskbar"

Aha, cheers man. All fixed.

The "ridge" didn't go away until I locked the taskbar.

I thought "lock the taskbar" would just "cement" things in the state they were currently in. I dunno. Isn't that what it sounds like?

Anyway, thanks.

Locking the taskbar does cement things but it also gets rid of those pesky sliders that adjusts the width of those special areas.
