T42: upgrading CDRW/DVDROM -> CDRW/DVDRW

#1 Post by zver17 » Mon Jan 10, 2005 3:56 pm

I am a bit confused about the slimbay on the T42: if I get a machine with the std CDRW/DVDROM and later want to switch to a DVDRW, is it just a matter of swapping modular drives or is it necessary to disassemble the entire machine etc.
btw, Is it true that the current multiburner doesnt fit properly into the machine?
many thanks
z.

It is just a modular drive change.

Only the 9.5mm height Panasonic UJDA812 or the original Multiburner fits into the Ultrabay slim.
