If you must do it with a floppy, try again and post the exact message it says. If we know what parameter it wants, somebody may be able to help. It probably is looking for a file system. Try using another CD to boot from to format, and make sure your CD drive is above your floppy in the boot menu in the bios. When it asks for a disk, it usually means it's trying to find the floppy drive and not a cd-rom.

I think you are fighting 2 issues

#1 some CD ROMs require a firmware update to run correctly

#2 I have never been able to natively load 2kPro
I have always used a 4 pack of floppies in the docking station to be able to run the CD/DVD in the laptop
OR
Loaded 98se the over wrote that with 2kPro

Try running an Fdisk with CD rom support and see if the drivers will install. I think I had a friend with the same problem.

We had a Windows 98SE disk and booted from the CD - and it loaded the drivers.

Then loaded XP on a reboot.
