New 120gb 5400rpm microSATA Hard Drive for Thinkpad X301

#1 Post by csv96 » Sun Nov 09, 2008 8:50 pm

The Thinkpad X301 Hardware Maintenance Manual (ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/mo ... 441_01.pdf) has been updated and now lists a 120gb 5400rpm microSATA Hard Drive option. Part #42T1323. If Lenovo makes it available on their website, it should drop the starting price of the X301 several hundred dollars.

There's also a new WWAN card with GPS (KDDI) 43Y6476 which might be the rumored universal CDMA/HSDPA WWAN card.

I wonder if that drive would also work on the X300?

The performance is far better while using Samsung SSD.

PS: X300 can use this Toshiba HDD as well

Yeah, that's pretty awful performance.
