This Forum is provided by an IBM approved seller of Thinkpads, but has no other association with the company.

It's inhabited by devotee's and owners of Thinkpads in general, as well as some very knowledgeable users. We also have some "real" IBM tech folks who peek in from time to time.

Ask any questions you might have, if no one here knows the answer we'll usually be able to come up with somewhere for you to find it.

ok thanks.

My question for you guys, usually how long for them to replace a part , the mainboard to be exact, for my notebook. I sent to IBM on 18/10/04. They gave me a replacement which is a downgrade for my notebook, but the original one are still with them.

When I gave them a call, IBM just reply still no parts. Hmmm... what should I do? Should I shout at them? Being nice just left me waiting for whole 3 motnhs now...

The mainboard has S-Video IN function that essential to me. I don't want to

Yeah...there is no excuse for this....3 months? If they can't fix it and it's still under warranty, then they owe you a step up, not a step down. Call IBM customer support...be very, very nice about things, but assertive and demanding about a replacement with a new ThinkPad with Video IN. Once, again, there's absolutely no excuse. Tell them that you have to have that feature for your work and that's what you bought the ThinkPad for. You have a case number, right? They could ship you a new TP over night with a box to send back the one you have now, if they really want to. Anyway, good luck!
