X300 Screen Renders Itunes as pink

I just installed itunes 8 and when I started it, i noticed the white area inside (list, media) rendered in pink/purple and the left bar seems weird too.

but the color returns to normal if this is the active application.

Any ideas? is this a hard ware issue?
