what is cpu100..??

my wife is currently using a 760ED..
one of the hottest running thinkpads ever..

its what? 6 years old..??
its been running most of that time..

your mileage may vary, depending upon murphy and his buttered side down laws.. :)

aznchowboy650, assuming you take good care of your ThinkPad and IBM still continues their trends, that ThinkPad could very well last into the next decade, well after you've upgraded. If you look around the messageboard and see the number of people who still have their old Pentium and 486 ThinkPads, you'll realize that these things are meant to last. Also, Bill, I used to own a 760ED, i think the reason it died was from the heat warping it's internals, the 760E runs alot cooler, or mine does at least, it's a U3L, I hear the 150mhz XGA models are pretty bad with heat.

yes, but that doesn't qualify as a system failure.... disk drives are disposable...

All of my firm's TPs since the 760s have lasted for four years of heavy use as desktop replacements and travel which entails being banged around under airline seats or in overheads. Most frequently, what fails is the TFT screen or the system board.
