T-61 Volume - Mute Buttons
T-61 Volume - Mute Buttons
Made the mistake of plugging my T-61 into a docking station that had an IBM Rapid Access keyboard attached.
Can no longer use the Volume Up/Down Mute buttons, they bring up the Rapid Restore panel.
Removed the Rapid Access Keyboard driver but these buttons still don't work.
Reinstalled: ACPI Driver, HotKey Driver and Video Driver, still can't get the buttons to work.
This is making me crazy, anyone have any ideas?
Windows XP, the installed Keyboard driver is an MS driver dated 7-1/2001.
Thanks for any possible solutions.

Wrong name
Like I said, this bug is making me crazy...
Of course, it is an "IBM Rapid Access Keyboard".
Thanks for the question..

Audio Driver
I did reinstall the Audio Driver ;-(
Good idea about deleting the Keyboard and allowing Plug & Play to find it...
I'll try that tonight after I clone the hard drive...
Thanks.....

Still failing
Tonight I deleted the old keyboard driver and let Plug & Play find the keyboard.
Same problem...
Then I installed a hard drive - operating system that was not exposed to the IBM Rapid Access Keyboard.
The volume up-down and mute buttons worked fine.
So, something in the load is causing this and I'm not sure what else there is to reload..
Thanks..
