My T40 doesn't support Active Protection

#1 Post by Paul Christi » Thu Nov 13, 2008 9:46 am

Dear All,

I'm so curious that i always fail installing the ThinkVantage Active Protection System on my T40.

Even before starting the installation the error message says "This system does not support Active Protection" appeared.

Is it confirmed that T40 can not use this advantage?

Is there anyway to make the T40 supports?

I'm looking forward for your inputs

Thanks & warmest regards,

The APS system was introduced with the T41.
The accelerometer which the software monitors to shut down the HD is missing from the T40 motherboard.
You would have to replace the motherboard with a T41 or 42 board to acquire that feature.
