Hi,
I am using the last version of Restore and Recovery to backup my full harddrive to an external USB drive. Everything goes fine except that during the process, the software prompts many times the error message:
"Rescue and Recovery is unable to back up the file <file name> because the file is either corrupted or being used by another application. Please close any application that could be using the file"
I always manually hit "Retry", and the program goes on.
I ran chkdsk before the backup and no corrupted file was found. Also I have disabled all the programs that could interfere with the process. Note also that all the "corrupted" files which are detected by RR have absolutely no relation with each other, and are as inoffensive as picture files etc....
This behavior is annoying because I then have to stay in front of my laptop to complete the backup ....
Do you know a workaround, which would by default execute the backup by selecting an option such as "Retry for all files", so that I dont have to hit any button during the process, and run for example a backup during the night? (use rr in command line???)
Thanks for your help.
