Suse 11.0 , 2.6.25 and KDE 3.5 kernel panic

#1 Post by rssb » Sat Nov 15, 2008 11:40 pm

I have Suse 11.0 , Kde 3.5 and the kernel version is 2.6.25.18

Occasionally the machine hangs up randomly ( t42p) , with the caps lock blinking. Has anyone seen something similar. Is there a solution for it.

There is no particular application / pattern when this happens.

Thanks

I have seen random lockups on some ATI machines. What happens if you disable 3D effects (.e.g. compiz)? Also try the built in radeon driver as a test (not fglrx).

Thank you Harry, I do have the 3D enabled and using the ATI proprietary driver. I will try disabling those 2 and see how it goes.
