Can someone recommend a power scheme to maximize battery life on a 15" non-Flexview T42? Thanks!

Recommended Power Scheme for best battery life
I assume you mean maximize with full functionality. I'm sure you'll get a few differing opinions, but here's my take.
Most Important:
-CPU Speed on "Very Slow"
-LCD Brightness on Level 0 "Low"
These two settings make the most difference by far. The rest doesn't matter quite as much, and really depends on how you work:
-Turn off HD: 3 mins is fine. HD access doesn't affect the general responsiveness of the system, and it spins up quickly enough.
Turn off Monitor: 2-5 minutes works for me. Basically this is the balance between saving a few minutes of backlight time when you go AFK vs. the annoyance of having the screen flicker off while you're trying to read something.
System standby and hibernate - if you tend to walk away from your system for 20 minutes to several hours at a time, standby is not a bad choice, set for 10-20 minutes of inactivity.
If you tend to walk away for more than 12 hours at a time, then you might want to set hibernate, though for me it's practically useless since I'd either have it on AC or pack up my system if I walked away for that long.

Re: Recommended Power Scheme for best battery life
Discharge battery to about 50%, then turn unit off. Remove battery and store in a cool and dry place. Your battery will last for a few yearskevinh wrote:Can someone recommend a power scheme to maximize battery life on a 15" non-Flexview T42? Thanks!
