T 21/22 LCD problem

I have a T21 (now with T22 mobo) that I've been getting parts together for. I installed the mobo and replacement lcd, but the backlighting on either LCDs isn't working. I purchased a different LCD inverter hoping that would fix my problem. I've tried both inverters as well as both LCD's, but still no backlight. Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

LCD cable, they usually break often after a few years.
At 10 bucks on ebay or 15 at IBM website.

The screen still displays though, just no backlight. Is this something that would be fixed by getting a new lcd cable?

Just got my new lcd cable in the mail and it works! Thank you so much, I was running out of options (not to mention $) trying to get the thing working!
