Any regrets after upgrading \from HOME to PRO?
If I successfully upgrade my Xp home to XP Pro can any one think of why I would regret doing this? I know all about a clean or partitioned install would be safer and guaranteed stability because many times the upgrades freezes or acts up during the process. But assuming all that goes well and I upgrade fine should I be wary of anything in the future. I ask this only because from what I read is that some files of the new OS goes into the one of the same folders that holds the old OS. So some things from Home may not be deleted. I guess the questions are again. Can anyone or program tell if I upgraded to Pro? Is everything downloaded and seamlessly in terms of files and extensions and not just stability? Also I am talking about a desktop.

Yeah I definitely do. I am a college student and I need to access certain things that cant be done on my home edition computer. it sucks. I had a laptop last semester but it was was 200o Pro so I need to access some stuff with Pro. I will just wait till I get back to school and see if any of my computer friends have partition magic lying around so i can just do it and be safe. i waited this long whats another week.

If you have Ghost, you could just image the drive to an external drive or another computer and try it out. That way if it doesn't work, you just go back... One thing to be sure of if you upgrade is to uninstall your antivirus first. Not just disable, uninstall! It not only speeds up the process but it can mean the difference between a sucessful upgrade and a reboot loop in setup.
