External PS/2 keyboard on TP23?

#1 Post by poochtp23 » Wed Jan 12, 2005 9:38 pm

Hi,

I've bought a Belkin ergonomic keyboard and attached it to my TP23 at the PS/2 port on the back. When I power up the TP23, the external keyboard's lights momentarily flash but when WinXP is finished booting, the external keyboard does not work -- the TP23's keyboard is still in charge.

Same thing occurs when I attach a different external keyboard (from my son's Gateway).

Neither the BIOS setup nor the ThinkPad Configuration program addresses switching control from the built-in to the external keyboard.

How is this done?

Thanks!

. . . Phil

It's NOT a PS2 port, it's a mouseport.

You need a mouse/keyboard splitter in order to plug in a keyboard.

Or, use the USB port.
