24 Hours with a T400

#1 Post by Harryc » Tue Nov 25, 2008 6:33 pm

I just purchased a T400 Elite. I am running Vista Business X64. After 24 hours with this machine, I just wanted to say, it is awesome. Everything just works, and the LED back-lit LCD is spectacular...so bright that I had to turn down the brightness. Running Coretemp, both cores idle at 34*c. The sound system is superb, and overall the machine is fast. I have a lot more to learn and to play with on this machine, but my gut reaction is to advise you to run (not walk) to get this laptop. It's that good!

That's been my experience with my new dual graphics w/LED backlight T400 too!

Cheers,

Similar configuration here... now in my 6th week since my "first 24 hours."

My take was... and is... the same as yours. I've totally settled in at this point, everything has been configured the way I like it... the way I use it... including the ability to clone to the ultrabay for a once-a-month backup.

:D At this point.... my only thought, very infrequently... is: is it really going to stay this good for the life of the machine? :D

(after all... gotta have SOMETHING to worry about once and awhile)

No need to use 2 monitors here. I am using a dock with an (DVI) externally connected LCD though.

Correct. I do attach a second monitor when day-trading. A docking station seems a pain to me... just more weight on the left leg/lazy-boy left arm perfect balance that has served me so well for the last 8 years.

The sony vaio this system replaces HAD to have its docking station attached to use the CD. Not so with the T400.

I use the wireless to my router, and bluetooth to my printer. Life is good. Only cable is the power cord... which I don't need either, in case I feel like working on the porch. :D
