Will the Thinkpad X61 boot from Linux on a USB flash drive (pen drive/thumb drive/key drive). Has anyone done it? Ubuntu?

It should. Even the x40 will boot from a usb drive.

yes you can load an OS from the USB drive

i have done it with kubuntu before 8) :lol: and by far i think this is one of the easiest and simplest tutorial i have gone through..

this web site has USB linux of many distros...so take ur choice... 8)

also in the boot menu in BIOS, u also need to make the change to boot from usb over there...
[do not forget about that]
