Software-based "dead pixels"?
I have the strangest phenomena happening on a new T42, w/ 15" SXGA+ Flexview screen:
Occasionally (every other day or so), I all of a sudden see what looks like a dead pixel.
I use a dark gray background, and the pixel is stuck white in one of two places.
Once on, it stays that way.
I've found, though, that logging out and back in clears it. So, I'm guessing that this isn't a true stuck pixel?

An update may not permanently fix the problem. If you update, and they still come back, whenever you see them, just press the middle trackpoint button a couple times and they will dissapear. The middle button between the two red ones, which is the blue lined one. It's some artifact from those drivers. Mine are updated, but they still occur sometimes. A quick tap of that button makes them dissapear.

After going into the ultranav drivers' "trackpoint" settings and setting the middle button to "neither" scroll nor magnify (thus making it a standard middle mouse button), I no longer get the "permanent" type of soft-pixels that stay unless you middle-click while in scroll mode. I do get occasional ones that are not always 100% white and go away the instant I use edge-motion scrolling.
