Recommend a quiet running, new Thinkpad?

I am looking to buy a new Thinkpad in 2009. I have the R40. It runs quiet enough for me most of the time. I'm wondering which models, specs and features to look for or avoid among new Thinkpads to get a laptop as quiet or quieter than the R40 while getting the fastest processing, RAM and hard drive speed I can.
