How To Restore S: Boot Partition ?

#1 Post by RogerBlake » Thu Dec 04, 2008 1:49 pm

My new W700 should be arriving in a day or two :D so I'm looking at how it will differ from my old broken  T42P - I'll be installing Linux probably dual booting with Windows XP.

However I see the recovery partition has now been split into two (S: and Q: ) and the limited information I can find states that only the Q: partition can be deleted and recovered, with the S: partition always remaining. This is a significant change from the old style of recovery partition which could be completely restored onto a blank disk. Is this really not possible with the new setup; If it is possible then how do you restore the S: partiion. And what exactly what is on the S: partition anyway ? ("booting information" is a bit vague !)

Thanks for any help/advice that might be forthcoming !
