New high-performance batteries "SONATA" for thinkp

#1 Post by beeblebrox » Wed Dec 10, 2008 5:17 pm

As you are aware, Boston Power has signed the first deal with HP to provide them with the new revolutionary batteries, starting in spring next year.

I heard through the grapevine that other manufacturers are qualifying Boston's technology right now and probably we might see replacement batteries for Thinkpads too.

For the unassuming Thinkpad fan:
Think about a battery that charges in half the time, can be charged 1000 times without losing capacity and having 3 years warranty.

Sounds good, methinks... ;-)

I agree. How about 6 cell batts that fit inside a 14 inch wide screen =/

I prefer 4:3 just for the battery fitting.
Me - X61s w/ UL, Wife - Z61t, Dad - Z61t, Mom - T61 4:3

Interesting!

So, since the T61 series is entering adulthood (in ThinkPad years), what's the general impression of what aging models can expect down the line in terms of battery support? Will there be these kinds of ultra-slow discharge battery offerings for the soon-to-be-legacy models like the T series?

For instance, last I checked, there weren't the early 9-cell hi-cap offerings for the T60/61 series any longer.
Are you sure you want to format?

T61p: 2.2GHz T7500; nVIDIA Quadro FX 570M 256MB; 500GB 5400 rpm WD Scorpio Blue; 250GB 5400 rpm Samsung HM250JI; Samsung 15.4" WSXGA+; Crappy Chicony keyboard; EasyBCD multiboot with Windows Server 2008 x64 + Vista Ultimate x64.
