Can I install the wireless card myself?

#1 Post by xavierr » Sat Jan 15, 2005 12:07 am

Completely new here....Just received my new T42. The machine is perfect except it doesn't come with a wireless mini pci card installed. So I bought one from IBM for it. I am wondering whether I could remove the keyboard and palm rest stuff to intsall the card myself, will this void the warranty?

Thanks a lot if anyone got experience with this

I think you're safe here. You seem to know what you're doing technically, and as the keyboard is a listed as a customer-replacable part, I'm assuming mini-PCI is as well as long as the wireless antenna is already in the display.
