Restore T42 to factory form

#1 Post by Binglehopper » Sat Jan 15, 2005 11:48 am

Hello Everyone,

Have a quick question, I'm not sure if this is a possible thing to do, but I faintly remember reading that using IBM's factory installed partition, it's possible to restore my computer to factory form (and I guess esentially reformatting?).

I've been trying to remember how to do this, but am drawing a blank :). Any on how to do this help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Greg

Reboot and press the blue Access IBM button. The recovery console will launch and you can then restore factory contents.

And if that doesn't work, try F11 (sometimes, for some reason, the blue Access IBM button doesn't work).

do you think "restoring factory contents" is the best option to start if I wanted to get a "clean system", assuming I didn't want to reformat the drive and use the recovery CD's? If not, are there better options?
