Hi guys,

just to let you know I finally managed to fix my T42p (that was suffering from the GPU problem) with the help of an user of the forum: poshgeordie.

I sent my machine to him and he fixed perfectly for a small amount of money.

You may have found yourself a little niche (and perhaps a gold mine?) if you offer your services to others in the Islands and on the Continent!

I have a partially related question. I will be opening up my TP in the next few days to replace a caffeine-fried Ultranav. While I have the motherboard exposed, would it be worth adding some Loctite two-part epoxy (five minute) to the corners of the GPU for extra protection against BGA fatigue and dreaded flex-related problems?
