PC-Doctor works on desktops the same as it does on thinkpads.

Didn't know that.

I checked for a download but Lenovo has changed all the PC-Doctors to Lenovo System Toolbox. The only download for PC-Doctor is about 2 years old.

The 2-year old version of PC-Doctor works well. There is also a version that creates a bootable CD with PC-Doctor for DOS. This is very handy if you get problems with your hard disk drive.
