10,000 rpm laptop hard drives are they worth it?

is there a noticeable speed increase with 10,000 rpm hard drives as compared to 7,200 rpm? anyone has both that they can compare?

In the server / raid world, they provide a good boost.
Are you talking about a thinkpad / notebook application?
They are only available as SAS serial attached scsi drives.

They are 2.5" drives, but intended for blade server applications.
As mentioned in my previous post, they are SAS drives.
Also avaiable in 15k rpm

in new egg they are under laptop hard drives category... so are they for laptops or desktops? i have no idea....
what's the fastest hard drive that i can put into a thinkpad?

They're for servers... laptops have to stick with 7200rpm.

The fastest drive you can get would be an SSD, though they are expensive per GB.
