If you don't use docking, perhaps get latest generic ATI video drivers (not from Lenovo, they only provide outdated and buggy versions), use Mobility Modder (which will allow to install them on ThinkPad), it might help.
Edit: Lenovo will very soon (as of Feb 3, 2009) release updated drivers which are possibly the best - because with generic drivers docking does not behave so well.

I would try to uninstall the current GPU driver that you have and install the one from lenovo. The screen flickering seems like a driver issue. At least with nvidia, if you don't have any drivers, this seems to happen. Have you also checked that you have drivers for all the other devices on your system and that they're all working properly? Check the PCI bus located under system devices.crossing wrote:MY PROBLEM ITS NOT GONE !!!

Re: IBM T60 flicker display when accesing big video files
Well, then maybe your problem is caused by one or more of the programs you add. FYI cracked video editing software may cause similar problems
What programs did you install additionally?

Re: IBM T60 flicker display when accesing big video files
Dude, you might want to refer to the "T60 Freeze" or similar thread in this forum. I have the same T60 like yours, thus - same problems. So far, I've used couple of ATi drivers and the newest ones (the ones that were made for 3800/4800 so GTA IV would work properly) give me no crap when playing videos. Of course, modded with the Mobility Modder.
Now, for the problem - I still have flickering from time to time, but this is PowerPlay issue, and you'll have it with most of the drivers (even when you turn it off - it works for a few days and then gets magically on again by itself). The blocking is also PowerPlay issue, but it's corrected in new versions of the driver. So... long story short - either do what I did, either go to "T60 Freeze" thread (I think that a guy from Lenovo has posted that this issue is resolved, as long as you PM him and get new drivers from him). When you're done, your laptop is going to run legen... wait for it... dary! Oh, and it has nothing to do with hardware, don't worry.
P.S. Uninstall old version of the driver and do a restart before you attempt to install the new one - Very, very important!
