Can't Unhide Hidden Partition on T42

#1 Post by RogerPodacter » Sat Jan 15, 2005 10:05 pm

I have the T42 2378FVU. I have 2 questions.

I've been searching this forum but i cant find a thread with detailed steps describing how to make the hidden partition visible. I have gone into my BIOS and changed the predesktop area from "Secure" to "Enabled" to "Disabled", but no matter which is selected i cannot see the hidden partition from "My Computer". Anything i am missing?

Also, once i do figure out how to unhide the partition, i plan on wiping it. Should i ghost it before i do? What program should i use to ghost my entire hard drive?

one trick is to put in a new drive and set it to drive E:. that seems to have made the recovery partition show up for me.

I could never see it in explorer or disk management either, but my Windows setup disk could see and delete the hidden partition when I reinstalled. If you're not looking to reformat, try using partition magic.
