I don't know if its just my T21, but even with the microphone volume set to max and the wav playback volume set to max, there is a lot of background hiss and I still have to increase the master volume to hear the playback.
My experience is that the sound quality from the internal mic is pretty poor.
Maybe Skype has some additional software settings that will help.
