Correct Monitor for A22m
Correct Monitor for A22m
Got an A22m that is currently set at 800 x 600, and won't go higher. In Display|Advanced, there are 3 different monitors shown: Plug and Play, Default, and Digital Flat Panel (800x600). Is this the right configuration, or does something need to be changed here that would let me get to 1024 x 768?

Have you gone to the IBM website and downloaded the latest video drivers for your laptop?JJDetroit wrote:Got an A22m that is currently set at 800 x 600, and won't go higher. When I upgraded the laptop from Win98 to Win2K, I went to the website and downloaded every driver/software package which applied to this model.

Well, first off, let's figure out what your system should be. Some A22m models came with SVGA (800 x 600) but they should be obvious since they are the much smaller 12.1" displays. On the bottom of the system, there should be a TYPE number. A22m generally will start with 2628 and have three more characters after that. You can plug that TYPE number into this page:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... OME-LENOVO
in the "Enter product number" field and you'll get a brief description of how the system was configured when it left the factory.
(Gotta learn to type faster and/or not be interrupted by other humans around my vicinity).

The product locator says I do indeed have the SVGA display. Thanks for helping me determine this.
