#1 Post by seth1991 » Wed Dec 24, 2008 4:32 pm

Hello,
I already have 1gb of memory in my laptop running Ubuntu 8.10. I was wondering what was the max and what memory is used in the system. Thanks!

Your T42p uses PC2700 (DDR 333) laptop RAM, and maxes out at 2GB.

Hope this helps.

... watch out for this high-quality Crucial 1 GB RAM (and note the extremely good user feedback!) - sometimes it goes on sale, and is available for as low as only $10 (!!); see e.g. the thread FRYS.com: 1GB PC2700 Cruical SODIMM - $10 after rebate!. These days, it is awful expensive - all up at $14!! If I were you, I'd certainly get one for myself as a gift from good, ol' :santa:

... after all, it IS Christmas, isn't it?! :-)

Has anybody used this memory in their T4x? Is it compatible/worth the price? Thank you!

Used it: yes. Compatible: yes. Worth the price: depends.

The pieces I've got work fine. I paid more than the Newegg price (some time ago). There may be better prices out there. For example, see this thread: http://www.thinkpads.com/forum/viewtopi ... =2&t=77034
