What is an "ati2mtag Unknown EDID" version error?

I'm getting this in my error log:
ati2mtag Unknown EDID version


I've downloaded the ATI drivers twice. I've uninstalled them and reinstalled several times and still get this error message. Any ideas?

Nothing specific on your error, but EDID stands for Extended Display Identification Data.

It most likely stems from your HD swap from different machines. You might try removing the drivers for the LCD instead, and installing the correct one.

That'll be the driver for the video card. You want to change the driver for the LCD screen itself.

That should be the correct version if your model number is correct.

Not saying it's the problem, but it's a good place to start.

EDIT: You might try a search in the forums, seems you aren't the only one with this issue.
