#1 Post by jjuhh » Sat Dec 27, 2008 5:44 pm

Hello,

Im from Germany, I hope you can unterstand my Problem:

I´ve got a ThinkPad T 20, which shows an error 0914. The Monitor looks like this:

_______________
ERROR
0194: to be defined...

Press <F1> to Setup
_______________

It comes whits every boot after 10-20 seconds. I only can press F1 to go into the BIOS, there I can change anythink. But the error comes allways again and I dont know what is the problem :(
I hope you can help me! Thanks!

I heardt it is because the supervisor Password, but I havent make an supervisor passwort. For a test I make a Supervisor Passwort, but the only other was, that I must tipp it when I start BIOS.

Welcome to thinkpads.com!

Error 0194 is in the Hardware Maintenance Manual as, "The computer has been carried through a security gate". The solution is to enter the supervisor password, if there is one, to access the BIOS. I believe that this is a result of the system having the RFID option. My suggestion would be to start the system, enter BIOS, select the Config option, select the RFID Security option and disable the "Gate through detection" and/or clear the RFID error status.
