Flat Battery After Suspend T61/Vista

#1 Post by Dead1nside » Sat Dec 27, 2008 6:30 pm

I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me if this is a known issue or not, or suggest methods to try to correct it.

It's a T61 running Vista Business and everytime I put it into suspend the next day it's battery is flat at like 1% down from 40%. I know suspend uses some battery power to maintain a charge in RAM but this is ridiculous. It's obviously not suspending properly. I think Vista's a likely cause. I've updated everything fully via System Update.

Can anyone help? Thank-you.

Have you tried turning off Wake On Lan in BIOS?

It is not a Vista problem. My T61 with Vista does not do that at all. In addition to the suggestion offered, are you using a device or mouse that is turning the machine on? My LogiTech VXnano mouse will do that (as I found my machine in my bag running after I had suspended it). I must ensure I turn off the mouse before suspending. ... JDH

Nope, just my plain T61 no peripherals. The wireless is usually on when I suspend it by closing the lid... that's all I can think of.

If you're still under warranty, it's time to call them.

What BIOS version are you running?

Have you updated the BIOS at all?

Cheers,

I am still under warranty and it's running version 2.24 of the BIOS and yes I think I did update it through System Update.
