Upgrading T61p Hard Drive

#1 Post by eskimochaos2 » Sun Dec 28, 2008 11:17 pm

Looking to get a 7k320 to put into my T61p now since its only $79 after mail in rebate from newegg. I want to copy over EXACTLY what I have now onto the new drive. Just want to clarify the steps necessary. Im looking to burn recover CD's off my computer now and run a backup of rescue and recovery. Then install the recovery cd's on the new hard drive after installed. After that I can recover my data from the backup....correct? If I complete these steps I will have exactly the same image just with bigger HD correct?

Thanks in advance!

It is easier and faster to just take an image backup of the entire old drive and then restore it to the new drive. I did this a few months ago with my T61 and it worked flawlessly. I used ShadowProtect to create and restore the image.[/url]

Not really concerned with time, will my idea work?

Thanks!
