Battery refill for 570E

#1 Post by Style » Wed Dec 31, 2008 10:37 am

Can I refill new Li-ion battery by myself?
Does anyone have any experience or good way to do that?
Where can I get cheap, good batteries?
Thanks in advance.

I'll look up for ebay.
I know that it's expensive though.

Provided the cells are the only thing bad
Yes, you can refill them
My i1300's were a piece of cake
The T2?'s and T30 were a royal PITA
All of the i series batteries align the same way
On the T series above they align 2 different ways and trying to get them to turn correct was a nightmare, I got it done but only after about 7 days of work
The i's were less than 1 hour

My suggestion:
Crack it open and look before you leap

Hey Ron,
You should take picture(procedure) of when you replaced yours. I also have 1200/1300 that is dead, well 10mins of life. Just didn't know where to begin before i mess it up.

On the i's, I took a new, fairly small screwdriver and ran it along the seams, maybe 20 or 30 times. Eventually you wear through the seam. Once it is open, you can see how they are aligned and it is a cake walk to replace them. I used carpet tape to keep them together and then a few dabs of silicone as "glue". 1 wrap of black electrical tape took care of the seam and i was done

Squeeze the battery pack diagonally in a vise and the seam will pop open.Sliding a small flat screwdriver all the way around the joint helps.Recycle usable L ion cells from discarded battery packs you find at the land fill or waste battery drop off. Practice your rebuilding by disassembling the discarded batteries, test the cells, and put the best ones you find back in the pack oriented the same way as the old ones. I have not had any problems with mix matched cells or the inherent explosive properties of L ion but the warnings are there so...

Oh man, i finally got my battery open up. Man! there's 8 of them. Meaning more to replace and expensive. Tested it's voltage/amps, little juice or no juice at all on all 8. It doesn't tell me what kinda bettery tho other than Sanyo HR-4 3FAU which I will google after writing this.
