Fingerprint reader questions

#1 Post by lengendtp » Sat Jan 03, 2009 12:36 am

Hi, My R60 has the fingerprint reader. Whenever at the Welcome Screen, the logon to enroll your fingerprint message will appear at the top left hand edge. How to disable this? On my computer there is just one user and that's me. I want it to boot right into windows desktop without stopping to ask me to enter password or swipe finger print.

Also at the windows desktop, the Client Security Setup wizard will pop up. How to disable this?

Actaully I get the set with fingerprint reader is to let me swipe my fingerprints to input the user name and password at various website for convenient purposes, and not so much for security purposes. Can this be done without having to setup a windows logon fingerprint or password?

Uninstall the fingerprint and client security software and your problems will be resolved. I don't know the answer to the fingerprint website swipe question. I'd assume that you'd have to logon first using a swipe.

Ok, I have disabled the CSS. But can't find the fingerprint reader to disable? Also it does not show up at the all programs..

So, meaning I can't use the thinkpad's fingerprint program to logon on websites... Is there any other fingerprint reader programs to use?

Thanks.

I think there is an option for disabling it for windows logon, but not quite sure. I will go have to check on that.
